Westren welcomes Taya Peterson as Head Coach of the Esports team. Peterson graduated from Western Technical College in 2023 with a Human Services degree, then transferred to Winona State University and graduated in 2025 with a Social Work degree. During her time at Western she  played on the Overwatch team as a support player and team leader, which inspired her to create the Esports Club and team at Winona State. Taya's favorite video games are life and farming sims (Sims 3, Slime Rancher) and metroidvanias (Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies), but other than video games, she enjoys board games, reading, and crocheting.
