Brent Brigson Steps Down as Head Volleyball Coach

Western Head Volleyball Coach Brent Brigson has announced his intention to step down from the position after two years at the helm. Brigson has served the program with dedication, a student‑centered approach, and a commitment to enhancing the overall experience of Western’s student‑athletes.
 
During his tenure, Brigson helped strengthen the program’s culture, emphasizing academic achievement, competitive growth, and positive team dynamics. His leadership has been instrumental in supporting the development of student‑athletes both on and off the court.
 
“Coach Brigson has been a positive and consistent presence in the lives of our student‑athletes,” said Ryan Monroe, Manager – Health, Wellness, and Recreation. “His dedication to building strong relationships, mentoring players, and upholding our mission made a lasting impact on the program. We are grateful for the energy and leadership he brought to Western Volleyball, and we wish him all the best moving forward.”
 
Brent will remain as the Interim Head Coach and a search for the next head coach will begin immediately. The College will share updates as the process moves forward and remains committed to supporting current student‑athletes through the transition.
